UNC Chapter Leadership Team Openings

Chapter Secretary

TERM: 1-2 Years
The chapter secretary’s role will include but not be limited to:

  • Recording minutes from all meetings (leadership team and full chapter meetings)
  • Coordinating with Co-Presidents to ensure that there is an agenda for all meetings 
  • Keeping record of attendance at meetings
  • Sending information and updates to leadership team and counselors via email following meetings
Chapter Treasurer

TERM: 1-2 Years
The chapter treasurer’s role will include but not be limited to:

  • Attending SAFO training at the beginning of school year
  • Completing student government assessment to serve as an approved student organization treasurer
  • Managing funds appropriated from student government
  • Maintaining deadlines and application components for student government fund appropriations
  • Maintaining consistent contact with Board Secretary about funds received and expended within chapter
  • Maintaining SAFO communication and records with SAFO for funds spent through student government accounts and ensuring that items are spent in accordance with funds appropriation
  • Serving as the main contact for utilizing funds requested from the parent organization, Healthy Girls Save the World, Inc.
  • Utilizing the parent organization’s tax ID # when needed for in-kind donations
  • Applying for small grants and resources for chapter or leading mini-fundraisers
  • Leading communication information on any membership fees or costs for chapter members
Lead Counselor

TERM: 1-2 Years
The chapter lead counselor’s role will include but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating with HGSW’s executive director, grad assistant and middle school partner contact (i.e. school teacher or school social worker) for after-school program logistics
  • Serving as the main contact for counselor communications
  • Helping to develop an afterschool schedule for approval from the parent organization, Healthy Girls Save the World, Inc.
  • Scheduling calendar to be available for attendance for most afterschool sessions
  • Aiding with assigning counselors for teaching activities within the afterschool programs
Summer Experience Coordinator

TERM - 1-2 Years
The chapter summer experience coordinator role will include but not be limited to:

  • Spending the year working with HGSW’s leadership to help plan the annual HGSW Summer Experience
  • Aiding with outlining the schedule and curriculum
  • Coordinating counselor selection and training
  • Reserving summer facilities
  • Managing food and supply donations
